Trust
Navigating the chaotic streets, Red uses quick bursts of his psychic sense to avoid rampaging pokemon, while Leaf struggles against the Pressure's relentless guilt, agonizing over every dead or dying pokemon they pass. To counteract the aura's influence, Leaf explicitly voices her complete trust in Red, relying on his judgment to decide when they can safely intervene. They detour to an apartment building where Leaf saves several injured pokemon, but she is traumatized after discovering a mother and infant slaughtered by a panicked fearow. In the chaos, Tony abandons them to loot the abandoned apartments.
Red realizes his psychic radar cannot detect Bug-types just as a new wave of pokemon swarms the building. A highly aggressive magneton attacks them on the upper floors, critically injuring Leaf’s ledyba and ivysaur. Realizing they have no counters for the Electric/Steel type, Red coldly calculates that they must sacrifice weaker pokemon to buy time. Leaf tearfully sends her rattata and pineco to absorb lethal electric blasts while Red’s charmeleon destroys the magneton with a concentrated plasma attack, empowered by Red projecting killing intent (sakki).
The magneton's attack sparks a massive fire that rapidly consumes the upper floors. Red and Leaf orchestrate a desperate evacuation, convincing the terrified tenants to brave the storm and head for the hospital. Exhausted and traumatized, the group finally nears the medical campus, only to find a colossal nidoqueen tearing through the surrounding buildings and slaughtering refugees. Overcome by the carnage, Red completely snaps. Abandoning the group, he charges the behemoth alone.
Lessons — Deep Trust. Leaf realizes that true trust isn't just predicting someone's actions; it's choosing to believe they have a good reason for their choices, even under uncertainty.
