Red briefs Sabrina and her psychic students on his indoor teleportation hypothesis: that the limitation isn't mechanical, but a subconscious safety check that can be overridden by a sufficiently strong memory of safety. The students agree to test this by attempting to merge during teleportation and tracking their coordinates. Leaf then frantically calls Red, warning him of David's suspicions regarding the unconditioning program's impossibly clean data.

Realizing the catastrophic implications of his secret leaking, Red meets with Sabrina. He completely drops his mental partition, allowing her to see the two massive secrets he has been hiding: his ability to perfectly lie through selective memory partitioning, and his use of sakki—a technique to completely break a pokemon's conditioning through killing intent—during the Casino raid. Overwhelmed by the burden of carrying infohazards that could destroy societal trust in psychics and unleash chaos, Red breaks down in tears.

Sabrina comforts him, reassuring him that his actions saved lives, and agrees to keep his secrets for now. They discuss who else can be trusted with this knowledge. Red initially considers Professor Oak, but Sabrina points out that Oak is ideologically committed to disseminating truth and might not be willing to bury dangerous knowledge. Instead, she arranges for Red to meet with Viridian Gym Leader Giovanni, arguing that he is uniquely comfortable with managing and containing dangerous secrets for the greater good.
