Blue wakes in a Celadon hospital, his body battered and wrapped in casts. Red is by his bedside, and explains that when the casino floor collapsed, he used his nidoqueen to dig them into a side passage, saving their lives. However, the news is not all good: Glen is in a coma after a Renegade attack. Furthermore, the massive earthquake wasn't an isolated incident, but the global shockwave of two legendary titans—Groudon and Kyogre—awakening in Hoenn. They were only stopped when a third legend, Rayquaza, descended from the sky. Overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the destruction and his own powerlessness, Blue sinks into despair, feeling that his accomplishments and ambitions are irrelevant in a world where such godlike forces exist. His perspective shifts when Red shows him a public video broadcast by Giovanni. The Viridian Leader shocked the world by dropping his pride, kneeling, and apologizing to humanity. He declares that their society's belief in safety is a delusion built on complacency, and that the recent cataclysm proves humanity is fundamentally unsafe. Giovanni urges the world to heal, but to prepare for what comes next. The speech reignites the spark of hope and purpose in Blue.
Meanwhile, Leaf arrives at the Celadon police department, accompanied by Laura Verres, to answer a summons from Detective Hirai. The detective reveals that the blueprints for the Silph prototype goggles—designed to view Ghost pokemon without the disorientation of surreality—have been leaked online, along with other data from the casino's secret underground lab. Leaf nervously denies any involvement, though she internally suspects Natural, the Unovan hacker she secretly sent the encrypted computer to. Hoping to distract the detective and prevent a disaster, Leaf warns him that the organization behind the casino Renegades is highly dangerous, revealing that the Mt. Moon Renegade was assassinated in police custody to protect their secrets. Detective Hirai takes her seriously, admitting that Interpol is aware of an interregional black market of Renegades, and promises the surviving attacker will be heavily guarded.
Outside, Leaf wrestles with guilt over her rash decision, but Laura encourages her, validating the heavy burden she carries. They meet Red and head to Blue's hospital room, where a recovered Professor Oak embraces Red and Leaf, thanking them emotionally for saving his grandson's life. The trio is finally reunited, and Blue eagerly enlists Red and Leaf to help him spread Giovanni's message online, turning his helpless despair into proactive momentum.
